The West Liberty Voluntary Action Council is accepting donations of food, toys, winter wear, and cash. Star Trees are located at the West Liberty State Bank and MidWestOne Bank. These trees contain boy/girl tags ages baby-12 years old. Wrapped toy gifts can be left at the banks until December 9. Food donations should be taken to First Church United. Office hours are 9:00-noon Monday through Friday. Cash donations should be sent to Voluntary Action c/o First Church United, 1100 North Calhoun Street, West Liberty, Iowa 52776
Churches are asked to collect winter coats, gloves, mitten, hats, scarves, socks and underwear to be distributed with the Christmas boxes.
Applications are available at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank in Nichols, West Liberty City Hall, the Early Learning Center, Middle School and Elementary School, Chamber of Commerce, Community Food Pantry at First Church United and the West Liberty Public Library. They must be returned to First Church United by Friday, December 8.
Distribution will be at First Church United on Friday, December 15, from 5:30 to 8 pm and Saturday, December 16, from 8:00-10:00 am. If you have questions, call the First Church United office at 627-2989.
