    • Thank you to everyone that attended the Annual Meeting, and congratulations to this years award winners. Kelly Morrison – Chamber Volunteer of the Year, We Lead – Chamber Member of the Year, and Liberty Press – Betterment Award.
  • The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine presented a Special Giving Opportunity at a community luncheon last week. The Foundation has done many good things in West Liberty, but they wanted to do more. So about 6 months ago they had a meeting with local leaders and facilitated the creation of a West Liberty Community Endowment. See the attached flyer for additional details. The fund is new and the Melick Foundation wanted to kick start the fund to enable the granting process to begin. There is a special giving opportunity if $10,000 is raised or pledged before Jan 31, 2017. If this goal is met, the Melick Foundation will match up to $10,000 and give an additional $5,000 to the West Liberty Community Endowment.Gifts to this fund are not only federal tax deductions, but Iowa donors are eligible for a 25% state tax credit through the Endow Iowa Tax Credit Program.

Living and doing business here, we all have ties, roots and amazing memories in this town. As year end approaches it’s important that everyone in the West Liberty area is made aware of this new opportunity, as gifts made to this Endowment will have direct benefit for our community for years to come.

Gifts should be made to the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine with West Liberty Community Endowment in the memo line. See the flyer for contact information.
